Back way back when, cops used to be respected by the communities, people used to treat them with respect and looked to them when they were in trouble. Now none of that exists, people either run and hide when an officer rolls through, or they spit in his path. Officers should be treated with the respect that they deserve because they were risk their lives for the lives of others every day, the job is extremely stressful, and they will be recognized in heaven for the good they do here on Earth. To start off, police officers are trained to and do follow in the practice of our Armed Forces when they uphold the law. Many people respect and revere them, so should it be any different for officers? Police are on the front lines for all the hate and violence corrupting the country and any person would agree on this point. What if say the National Guard were brought in to expel quarrels in the streets, or simply replace our boys in blue for the day? Many people, including those in Black Lives Matter, therew rocks in their faces as many police riot squads face when they are brought in to calm things down. The military is protecting the freedom of this country from those who would wish to see it exterminated, our officers do much the same thing here stateside, respect should be reciprocated especially if you might be in trouble someday or later. Along with respecting the military in that you should respect the police, one should show gratitude if one actually needs a cop now. Cops are only human, if someone affiliated with Black Lives Matter hates a cop his whole life due to something only a few officers do in the entire country, and someone gets mugged and he is an officer, that officer might turn the other cheek and report an all-clear to his supervisors. Now I’m not saying that will happen because that’s immoral, but not all humans would help another that dedicated a whole life to hating you. If I asked every person I saw if they would help, say their childhood bullies, I’m not sure every person would say yes but whoever did will make an excellent candidate for a police officer. Helping all those in need, no matter if they deserved or not, is 100% part of the job every day and just another reason why they deserve praise. In case you didn’t know since most police brutality often occurs as a result of split second decision-making of the officer. In addition to the military getting respect and future need of officers, cops should not be blamed for ill-fated civilian shooting since they operate based on split-second decision-making. While it is a terrible thing to hear civilians being killed from shootings, one must put into perspective the personal life of the officers as well. Many of them, like all people, have family that they wish to see at the end of their beat. Any rational person in that situation would understand that if the other person in question is doing anything out of the ordinary, of which the officer did not tell them to perform, that it’s either their life or yours. Many of the shootings in the news consist of officers opening fire after the person performs a suspicious act the officer told him not to do. While nonlethal action should be taken in these situations, split-second decisions such as these is the matter of life and death for the officer himself and his family as well. For these actions I believe that the officer is not rotting in hell, much to the amusement of people today, I believe he indeed will flourish in heaven. To add on to, as well split-second decision-making, people needing cops later on, and the military getting the respect, officers of the law will be recognized in heaven for their bravery and devotion here on earth. Officers risk their lives every day for the lives of others as I stated earlier, God himself would surely recognize the sacrifices someday when they pass. For them committing to perform exceptional service to others despite constant hate and intolerance from sectors all across the country, policemen will have a golden pass indeed into the land of the Lord. Officers all around the country will be acknowledged, quite so since only a small percentage of officers are crooked. Along with all of the points stated those four, a percent of a percent of men in blue are corrupt and live up to the standards people today put them too. Many members of Black Lives Matter tout the violence and corruptness of all agencies to events that unfold today. People themselves I believe are born and raised bad. So agencies should indeed update their selection process, although the vast majority of officers are not evil. In fact even today with all the controversial police killings being seen on the news is an infinitesimally small percent of all cops. The majority black, or all races for that matter, killings on TV are done by gangs themselves or civilians in general. A black male is in fact 60 times more likely to die at the hands of another black male than by a police officer. Black Lives Matter does have a point that killing black innocents is wrong, but so is killing any other human being in cold blood. Cops who do break the law should be punished but not all officers have, and all officers of the law should not have to bear the blame for the ones that have wronged. In conclusion cops should have the ability to be respected just like any other law-abiding nice person should be because they follow the same practices as the revered Armed Services, they will be recognized in heaven for their actions, you may need them someday, and police brutality is undergone by a percent of a percent of all officers in this country, so the ones that are just should receive the respect that they deserve.
